Ample Opportunity for Youth to Have Fun, Grow in Faith This Summer
With summer right around the corner, the Archdiocese of Toronto’s Office of Catholic Youth created a list of summer camp opportunities for children. In many cases, camp spots are limited so families are encouraged to reach out to their parish to register soon.
The popular Totus Tuus summer camp will be running in 25 parishes this July and August. Totus Tuus is an archdiocesan program that is a collaboration between the Office of Vocations and the Office of Catholic Youth. Young adults (college, university, and seminary students) who are active in discerning their vocation are offered extensive training and formation and are sent out to facilitate week-long day camps at various parishes. Most parishes that offer Totus Tuus have a day camp program for youth who are in grades 1-6 and an evening program for youth who are in grades 7-12.
The archdiocese is blessed to have many parishes offering their own parish-run day camps, programmed and facilitated by parish staff and volunteers. These camps, often found in parishes with strong youth ministry presence throughout the fall, winter and spring months, provide children with faith-based camp experiences, often spanning several weeks.
